Mall 205 was undertaken as a renovation project in early 2001. A new exterior welcomes shoppers through a more distinct mall entrance. An upbeat interior color scheme with unique lighting fixtures, and new restrooms accent architectural features. A dramatic 144-seat food court is complete with a fountain and child's play area. New parking lot striping and illuminated walking paths make for an easier-to-navigate parking lot. The 477,000 sq. ft. mall features new anchor tenants, a 133,223 sq. ft. Home Depot, a 36,000 sq.-ft. 24-Hour Fitness, and a 178,000 sq. ft. two-level Target, the largest Target store in Oregon. And a new Bed Bath & Beyond, which is only their second store in the country that has an interior mall entrance.
Tenants include Famous Footwear, Dress Barn, and Performance Bike. The center also has three pad sites along Washington Street. One pad is home to Red Robin. The second pad is home to Baja Fresh, Panda Express, Great Clips, Rio Tan, and Lazerquick. The final pad is leased to Olive Garden.
Mall 205 is located at the intersection of the 205 Freeway and SE Washington Street. A high level of attention from the city planners is being given to this area, designated as the most densely populated urban area in greater Portland. Currently, almost 400,000 people live within a five-mile radius of this center.
